With the study of neuroscience we know that the amygdala and hippocampus are the primary regions of the “limbic brain system” where feelings and emotional reactive information memory are stored. The limbic system is responsible for the messages that are sent through the nervous system to every cell, organ and every other system in the body. The role of the neocortex in generating thought is relatively slower in comparison to the limbic brain and subsequently is almost always hijacked by the immediate operation of the limbic-feeling-system.

So, we more often than not react with our feelings to something before we “consciously” and rationally think about it.

The Problem:

Everyone has the ability to resolve emotionally caused problems, however most people don’t realize it. Physically, our body “automatically” attends to all sorts of healing after we are injured. Our mind has the same ability to rebalance emotionally stressful situations, but sometimes the stress is too much. We may try many things to right the wrong but sometimes we just get “stuck” so we need some help.

The Subconscious is designed to protect us and in doing this, it has done its job well. It sometimes buries the problem because otherwise we could not cope with it. But over time, things happen later that trace back by way of an affect bridge to “that learned feeling memory” and hidden feelings begin to affect us (symptoms like depression) to let us know that something needs attention.

The Solution – Session Work:

By the use of words that transport ideas and especially those words charged with “feeling”, your subconscious uses its natural ability to always “search for meaning” by way of a Trans-derivational Search and start to search for the problem.
